장흥 유치면, ‘사랑의 표고 고추장 나눔’ 추진

Jangheung-gun's Yuchi-myeon recently held the "Yuchi-myeon Love Shiitake Pepper Paste Sharing Event" on the 20th and 21st with the support of the Saemaul Buro and the Jeonnam-Jeollanam-do Branch of the Korea Water Resources Corporation, as announced. For this event, they used Yuchi-myeon's specialty, shiitake mushrooms, to create the pepper paste, which was delivered to elderly residents and other marginalized members of society. The Saemaul Buro members personally grew and provided ingredients such as gochugaru (red pepper flakes), shiitake powder, and sesame oil, and put in great effort from preparing the ingredients to packaging the pepper paste. On the event day, about 250 jars of 2-3kg pepper paste were made and delivered by Saemaul Buro members to each village's community center and elderly residents, checking on their well-being. Yuichi-myeon Mayor Moon Jeong-ah expressed her gratitude to the Saemaul Buro president and other members for participating in the event despite their busy schedules. She also stated, "In the future, we will make more efforts to create a Yuchi-myeon without welfare blind spots."
