Following the Excellence Award in 2017-2018, Haenam County has consecutively won the Grand Prize since 2022, marking its fourth consecutive win. This is a first for any county in the province. The Agricultural Administration Comprehensive Evaluation measures the effectiveness of agricultural, livestock, and fisheries policies, encourages innovative policy development, and evaluates performance in six areas: agricultural and rural vitalization, eco-friendly agriculture, cereal and horticultural crops, agricultural and food product distribution expansion, and environmentally friendly green livestock farming. Haenam County has trained 768 million-dollar farmers, the highest number in Jeonnam, and achieved a record-breaking 4,940 hectares of eco-friendly certified area, the largest in the nation. The county also led the reduction of rice paddy cultivation area by 1,326 hectares, actively promoting self-initiated and public-funded projects to establish a food processing and export base. Haenam County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan stated, "The four consecutive Grand Prize wins in the Agricultural Administration Comprehensive Evaluation are the result of Haenam County's continuous interest and consistent efforts in agricultural administration." He further added, "As the largest agricultural county in the nation, we will continue to develop and implement various policies to foster a sustainable future for agriculture, responding effectively to climate change and nurturing adaptable farming practices." The award ceremony will take place on July 19 at the Provincial Office's Seojae Phil Hall.
